The updated Ducker Worldwide report on aluminium proliferation inthe automotive sector indicates that auto sheet needs will exceedexisting capacity, according to industry experts. “I know there’s no question that auto capacity will not meet 2025demand,” Doug Richman, technical chairman with the AluminumTransportation Group and vp of engineering and technology withKaiser Aluminum Corp, told Metal Bulletin sister title AMM on August1.“A great deal of aluminium auto sheet capacity will need to beadded well into the next decade,” a second source agreed.
